## What it does

Voice greetings let you write one account-level message and select a supported language and speaker. The text-to-speech greeting plays before supported incoming Pro calls connect.

## Current capabilities

- One greeting shared across the account.
- Custom greeting text up to 250 raw characters.
- Dozens of supported languages and regional voice options.
- Language and speaker selection.
- Plain-text greetings.
- Complete supported SSML documents.
- SSML support shown for the selected voice.
- Playback before eligible incoming calls connect.
- Web dashboard management.
- Mobile profile greeting settings.

## How to use it

1. **Open incoming greeting settings.** Sign in to the Voipfibre web dashboard, open Pro settings, and find Incoming Voice Greeting.
2. **Choose a supported language and speaker.** Select the language or regional voice option that matches the greeting text you plan to use.
3. **Write and save the greeting.** Enter plain text or complete supported SSML within the 250-character limit, then save the greeting.
4. **Receive an eligible call.** Voipfibre plays the saved greeting to the caller before the supported incoming call connects.

## Important distinctions

### Voice greetings play before connection

An incoming voice greeting welcomes the caller before a supported Pro call connects. It is not the same as voicemail, which answers an eligible call when it cannot be connected and lets the caller leave a message.

### Multilingual means a selectable text-to-speech voice

You write the greeting and choose a supported language and speaker. Voipfibre does not automatically translate the text, detect the caller's language, or switch between several greetings for different callers.

### SSML is available only on supported voices

Plain text works for every selectable voice. Complete supported SSML can add permitted speech controls when the selected voice supports them, and all markup counts toward the 250-character limit.

### Playback can start incoming-call charges

Incoming-call charges can begin as soon as the greeting starts playing, before the caller reaches the final destination.

### A phone greeting for business calls

Use the account-level setting as a business phone greeting or professional phone greeting before supported calls connect. Write a custom phone greeting in your own words and use it as a voice greeting for business callers.

## Availability and boundaries

- Requires Pro calling and a supported incoming-call route.
- Multilingual means choosing a supported language and speaker; Voipfibre does not automatically translate the text or detect a caller's language.
- SSML availability depends on the selected voice, and markup counts toward the 250-character limit.
- Incoming-call charges can begin when the greeting starts playing to the caller.

## Questions and answers

### What is an incoming voice greeting?

An incoming voice greeting is a short message played to a caller before an eligible Voipfibre Pro call connects. It can introduce a business, welcome the caller, or explain that the call is being connected.

### Can I create a multilingual voice greeting?

Yes. Write your greeting in the language you need, then choose from the supported language, regional, and speaker options in the web dashboard. Voipfibre does not translate the text automatically or detect the caller's language.

### Can different callers hear different languages automatically?

No. The saved greeting is account-level and uses the language and speaker you select. Voipfibre does not detect a caller's language or dynamically choose among several greetings.

### How long can my voice greeting be?

The greeting can contain up to 250 raw characters. If you use supported SSML, its tags and attributes count toward the same limit.

### Can I upload or record my own greeting audio?

No. This feature converts the text you enter into speech using the supported language and speaker you choose; it does not provide an audio-upload, voice-recording, or voice-cloning workflow.

### Is a voice greeting the same as voicemail?

No. A voice greeting plays before a supported incoming call connects. Voicemail answers an eligible call when it cannot be connected and lets the caller leave a message.

### Does a voice greeting affect incoming-call charges?

Yes. Incoming-call charges can begin when the greeting starts playing to the caller.

### Can I use SSML in a Voipfibre greeting?

You can enter a complete supported SSML document when the selected voice supports SSML. Plain text remains available, and all SSML markup counts toward the 250-character limit.
